Meet Sarah
For as long as I can remember, I've been drawn to spaces that tell a story.
The moment I walk into a room, my imagination begins to wander. I notice the worn edge of a stair rail and wonder about the hands that have passed over it through the years. I picture the hem of a dress brushing across old wood floors or imagine the conversations that once echoed through a quiet hallway. To me, every space holds traces of the lives that have unfolded within it, and those stories quietly reveal themselves if we're willing to notice.
That perspective has shaped the way I see design.
My creative journey began in New York as a fashion designer, where I learned that every detail—proportion, texture, color, and craftsmanship—works together to create something meaningful. Later, I returned home to New Orleans and spent more than a decade working in the film industry as a Production Accountant. While my work became increasingly analytical, I never lost my appreciation for the artistry happening around me. Whether walking through meticulously designed film sets or historic New Orleans homes, I found myself continually drawn back to my innate need to create.
Those experiences became the foundation for GrayHill Design Studio.
Today, I bring together my background in design, organization, and project management to create spaces and experiences that are as functional as they are beautiful.
I believe thoughtful design should never exist simply for appearance—it should support the way people live, gather, and experience everyday life.
Whether refining a familiar space or beginning something entirely new, my goal is always the same: to help you create an environment that reflects your story and enriches the life you want to live.
